All the Target TAGB schools are part of the UK’s largest tae kwon-do organisation, the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain (TAGB), established in 1983.

Classes are available at times to suit most people’s busy lives, with at least one class available every weeknight in the local area, plus also weekend mornings. Training fees allow for unlimited training at all our schools.

Men, women, boys and girls train together and all find improvements in fitness, flexibility, strength, coordination and balance. Tae Kwon-Do is also an excellent way to improve self confidence and children benefit from the structured environment where respect and discipline are promoted

Tae Kwon-Do is about a lot more than just kicks and punches. Defensive techniques and self control are equally important and one of the most important lessons in studying any fighting style is learning the control to know when not to fight, but walk away. Aggression is not tolerated and the training is non contact or strictly controlled contact.

Mr Gerry Waugh runs the Axminster, Beaminster and Sidmouth classes. Mr Waugh is also a fully qualified tournament referee and regularly officiates at local, national and international competitions. Mr Waugh owns the domain name and shares, for collective marketing purposes, the name Target TAGB Tae Kwon-do with his own instructor.

Master Daren Sainsbury is one of the region’s most experienced instructors and runs the classes at Colyton. A sixth degree black belt, Master Sainsbury has been teaching tae kwon-do for over 25 years and several of his students, including Mr Waugh, have gone on to become qualified instructors themselves.

Both instructors have undergone an intensive instructors’ course, involving both written examination and practical assessments, and are fully insured and Enhanced DBS (formerly known as CRB) checked.
